The purpose of the organization is to educate and inform law students with the Sports and Entertainment industry by increasing their knowledge of the film, music, professional and amateur sports leagues, fashion, film, media, and gaming industries through guest lectures, group discussions, seminars, publication, and events. 

The goal and reason behind SPENT is to continually raise awareness among our students and keep them abreast of the most intriguing and trend setting legal issues in the Sports and Entertainment industries  SPENT shall function as a student resource to be used as a supplement to the knowledge gained in school, class, and professional experience(s).
