The Alliance was created to serve the academic, professional, and extracurricular interests of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community, along with their friends and other individuals interested in legal issues concerning the LGBT community. The organization presents educational programs and speakers on sexual orientation and the law, develops contacts with local and national LGBT organizations, and works towards eradicating discrimination based on sexual orientation through education.
